Introduction

I would like to talk to the person who designed this to still work with the door open, what a bad failure mode.

What you need

Step 1

              Remove top
  • Unplug the microwve
  • take out the rotating dish
  • Remove 2 black screws from right bottom, 1 from left bottom and all 6 SS screws from back holding top on
  • Pull top back releasing from top edge

Step 2

              Remove the switch
  • Unplug the wires going into the bottom switch that is activated by pushing the button to make the door open
  • Remove the switch
  • Push the little tab below the switch in towards the heating area
  • pivot the switch down (pivots on the pin on the top right)
  • Pull the switch out
  • Plug in the new switch before installing (the replacement switch terminals were a little thicker then the old one, I used pliers to force the switch onto the wire connectors)
