If the fan is constantly running, but not cooling your device, than the vent is probably blocked and needs to be cleaned. This can be done by opening your device and cleaning out any dust or dirt that is blocking the fan.

Your computer is running, but there is nothing on the display screen or the screen is frozen.
If your laptop is running, but the LCD Display is not working, this could be an issue involving the laptop’s RAM. If a laptop’s ram is full or close to it, the laptop’s LCD will freeze regularly and often turn black. You can replace your devices RAM using this guide.
