What you need

Step 1

              preparation               
  • For the replacement I used:
  • new battery, boiling water, knife, suction cup, plastic wedge, screw driver, double sided tape, t-7000 glue
    1. remove the wrist band
    1. boil 1L water

Step 2

              heat up the display               
  • If you use water, let the boiling water rest for 60 sec then pour the water over the display
  • Make sure to dry the watch before removing the display!
  • Although hot water was used in this guide, you can always use an iOpener as an alternative
  • To remove the display, a knife was used to separate the display, along with a suction cup

Step 3

              disassembly               
  • Remove the two connected FPCs
  • The FPC’s are different connectors, and have been color coded for easy reassembly
  • Make sure to clean off any glue or glue residue left behind.
  • Remove the 3 screws, then lift the PCB

Step 4

              battery replacement & assembly               
  • If needed, remove the red marked FPC to increase assembly space
  • Remove the old battery
  • Next, add double sided tape to the new battery. Make sure to connect and place the new battery inside the watch
  • Make sure to use a good electronic adhesive (t-7000) to seal the display again
