CD’s or DVD’s are lagging or not working
A common problem that causes CD’s and DVD’s to play slowly, lag or skip is that they have finger prints or dirt on the bottom of the disk. First try cleaning your CD/DVD and inserting it into the optical drive. Use a slightly damp microfiber towel to wipe under side of disk. Then try using a completely new disk to see if it runs.
If both fail it could be a problem with your optical drive, which could be replaced by following this guide.
When a optical drive malfunctions it can cause CD’s and DVD’s to play slowly or not at all. Consider replacing the optical drive with this guide.
