Lid Lock Switch Assembly

- Using a metal pry tool (such as a putty knife) pry open the washer’s top panel.
- Go around the gap of the top panel with the metal pry tool and gently lift it up.
- There are three clips holding the top panel in place: one in the front and the other two at the sides.
- Use minimum force as you lift because the clips are plastic and can break.

- Open the lid of the washer.
- Lift up the top panel from the inside.
- The lock switch assembly is underneath the right side of the top panel.

- As you lift the top panel you will notice that there isn’t much space. To solve this, remove the plastic clip holding the wiring harness in place with your fingers.
- Using pliers to remove the clip could end up breaking it.
- Lift the top panel completely and prop it open using something sturdy like a piece of wood.

- Hold the switch assembly tight with one hand and remove the three electrical connectors from the assembly with the other hand.
- Lift the washer lid and prop it open using something sturdy like a piece of wood.
- Take a photo of the electrical connections before removing them. This will help you later when reassembling.

- Use a rubber hammer to gently tap the switch assembly until it slides to the front.
- Remove the switch assembly.

- Purchase your new part and make sure it’s the same as the old one. Pay attention to the metal pins where the connectors go as those tend to change from brand to brand.
- Position the switch assembly in the slotted hole and then slide it in place until your hear a click.
- Do not use a rubber hammer in this step; doing so may damage the switch assembly.

- Remove the piece of wood holding the lid in place and lower the lid.
- Make sure the lid closes properly and that the switch assembly is aligned with the lid.

- Reconnect the electrical connectors using one hand to hold the switch assembly and the other to push the electrical connectors in place.
- Push in the electrical connectors until you hear a click sound.
- Consult the picture you took in Step 5 and make sure you have reconnected the electrical connectors in the right place.

- Remove the piece of wood holding the top panel in place and begin lowering it.
- As you lower the top panel, reinstall the plastic clip that holds the wiring harness in place.
- You must reinstall the clip after removing the piece of wood. If you try doing it before removing the piece of wood, the plastic clip will not reach the hole.

- Align the top panel of your washer with the three clips that hold it in place and then push down until the top panel is secured and tight.
