Introduction
If your fluorescent bulb breaks, the mercury can escape as vapor, or as powder that settles on your carpet. Mercury poisoning is extremely serious and can cause health problems, so take extreme caution if you’re replacing a fluorescent bulb.
When you replace the light bulb, make sure it’s the same size, shape, type, and wattage as the one currently in your refrigerator.

- Open the fridge.

- Rotate the lightbulb clockwise to remove it from its socket.

- Place your new bulb into the socket and turn it counterclockwise until tight.
- Do not over-tighten the bulb to prevent shattering.
