- Unscrew the two Phillips #2 5mm screws that hold the power cord in place.

- Use the flat-end of the spudger to pry off the clamp which holds the cord down.

- Use the soldering iron to melt down the solder on each terminal by holding the tip of the iron against the solder until it becomes liquefied.

Step 5
- Gently pull the leads free from the terminals. If they do not easily separate from the terminals, repeat Step 4.
- Now any solar panel of appropriate Voltage rating can be used to charge the device by soldering the wire leads to the new panel. Try to find a panel with similar specifications to avoid overloading the battery.

In order to use solar energy efficiently, we need to learn how to store solar energy. Unfortunately, we can only store a small fraction of the sun’s energy.
