  • Remove the screw cover in the handle housing using a flathead screwdriver.

  • Remove the screw that is holding the handle housing with a T20 Torx screwdriver.

Step 3

  • Carefully pull the handle housing off.
  • Do not pull too hard. There are wires attached to the back of the housing.

  • Detach the wires on the handle housing with a flathead screwdriver by pushing upwards on the release slot.

  • Remove the cover on the door grip by prying gently with a flathead screwdriver.

  • Take off the inside door panel by removing all screws with a T20 Torx screwdriver.
  • There are nine screws in total: two on the front, three on the outer side, two on bottom, and two on the inner side.

  • Pull the insulation back to access the door handle bracket.
  • Use an X-acto knife if needed.

  • Remove the two screws holding the handle bracket with a T20 Torx screwdriver.

  • Remove the outside door handle by prying gently with a flathead screwdriver to loosen, and then slide it back.

  • Detach the door latch rod from the handle bracket by pulling the plastic end out of the metal loop.

  • Pull the locking rod free from the handle bracket and remove the broken handle bracket.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Excellent guide. I should have watched the video before disassembly. Actually got part from coastal ford for $40. Same as napa but actual Ford part! And in stock. Thanks Glen
