  • Take your ladder out of the pet’s cage and lay it out to clearly assess the damage.

  • Gather your supplies for the fix (ie: new rope, scissors, ruler, sewing kit, clips). These items will be used to fix the small ladder.

  • Cut the old rope in the ladder with scissors and pull it out of the cylindrical wood pieces.
  • Make sure the knots at the ends of the rope are cut. This will enable you to pull the rope out easily.

  • Measure your new rope to the length of the ladder using a ruler.

  • Begin pushing rope through the individual holes in the wood pieces (use a sewing kit if necessary).
  • If there is the need to use a sewing kit to drag the rope through the wood here is how to do so: Push the needle through the end of the rope and tie a knot around the rope. Once you are finished with this, push the needle through the rope holes and then sew the rope through the individual pieces.

  • Add clips to the ends of the rope and attach to the small animal cage.
  • If the clips cannot attach to the rope, tie the rope around the clips.
