Introduction

Time the problem occurred to me: May 2018 on my windows 7 home 64bit.

Step 1

              Find CBS log files folder

Find CBS log files folder. The folder usually contains a .log file under 2 GB, and some .cab files.

Step 2

              Remove any .log files larger than 2 GB

Delete, or move away if you want to keep the logs, any .log files larger than 2 GB in the CBS folder.
If makecab.exe is currently running and processing the log files, you may need to end it through Task manager.
