The projected image is fuzzy or blurry.

Adjust the sharpness setting if projecting from a computer using a lower resolution or matching the projectors native resolution. Press the auto button for automatic tracking and sync of the image. If this does not work, manually display the image on screen and adjust the tracking and sync settings.

Allow the projector to warm up to room temperature before turning on the projector.

Periodically clean the projector lens. To remove dust and smudges, use an appropriate lens cleaning paper to remove dust or smudges. If lens cleaning paper is not sufficient to remove smudges, apply a liquid lens cleaner solution to a lint free rag and try to remove the smudge. DO NOT spray any liquid directly onto the lens. DO NOT use a lens cleaner with flammable properties as the heat from the projector may ignite the cleaner. DO NOT use glass cleaner or compressed air canisters to clean the lens as they may damage the projector lens.

Position the projector close enough to the screen and adjust the projector’s focus using the focus ring until the image resolution is of desired quality. If the projector is set at the appropriate distance from the screen and the image quality is still blurry try adjusting the keystone adjustment angle so that the width of the projected image is not too wide.

Epson VS250 does not power on when pressing the power button or unexpectedly powers off.

Ensure that the power cord is firmly connected to the Epson VS250.  Also ensure that the electrical outlet being used is working properly.  If the power cord is defective then remove the cord from the device and contact Epson.

The projectors buttons may be locked for security reasons.  To unlock the projector press and hold the “Enter” button on the control panel for approximately seven seconds.  A message will then appear on the projector image informing you that the projector is now unlocked.  If using the remote control press the “Menu” button on the remote.  Then press the “Settings” button followed by the “Lock Setting” button.  Lastly, click the “Control Panel Lock” button then the “Off” button.

Check the batteries inside the remote to ensure the remote is charged.

Projector may have entered sleep mode.  Start the presentation to awaken the projector.  If the projector lamp shuts off and both the power and temperature lights are the color red this means that the projector has turned off due to overheating. Follow overheating guie

Device is plugged in, but no image is displayed.

The most common cause of this issue is a faulty cable. First, try replacing the cable used to connect the device with another cable before troubleshooting with other causes.

If your device is plugged in via HDMI and the projector continues to not display an image or sound, the HDMI port may be faulty.

If your device is plugged in via USB and the projector continues to not display an image or sound, the USB port may be faulty.

If your device is plugged in via VGA Cable and the projector continues to not display an image or sound, the VGA port may be faulty.

If your device is plugged in via RCA cables and the projector continues to not display an image or sound, the RCA cables may be faulty.

The projector is powered on, but no sound or video is being output.

If the status light is flashing blue and lamp light is orange, this indicates that there is a problem with the projector lamp. Check if the lamp bulb is burned out, broken, or seated improperly. Use this guide to replace the lamp if necessary.

See the “Projector not Recognizing Plugged-In Devices” section for potential solutions.

Projector is not outputting any sound when you expect it or if the volume is too low or high.

The noise may be jumbled if the projectors volume is set to the maximum while the computer’s is at the minimum. Fix this by turning down the projectors volume and turning up the computer’s volume.

Make sure the audio output is for the correct source. Always try disconnecting and reconnecting the audio cables. If using sound from an HDMI source with no sound, try setting the device to PCM output. If using a Mac with an HDMI source with no sound, make sure the Mac supports audio through HDMI ports. If it does not, connect an audio cable instead.

Look at the labeling on the cable to determine whether or not it says “No Resistance”. “No resistance” audio cables provide a more clear signal and output.

If all else fails then the speaker may be broken. Follow this guide to replace the speaker.

The projector overheats and shuts off during use.

The device can overheat when there is too much dust or other materials in the air cooling system of the device. Gently clean the ventilation ports with compressed air or a feather duster to clear the blockage.

The air filter allows cool air to enter the projector to reduce the heat that the components generate. If the air filter has too much dust on it then it will prevent cool air from entering. Follow this guide to replace the air filter.

The fan in the Epson VS250 projector helps circulate cool air throughout the internal components. If the fan is broken then follow this guide to replace the fan.
