Despite being plugged, in the projector won’t power on.
If the Epson PowerLite S4 fails to turn on, then there is a possibility that the power port is obstructed by dust or other particles, particularly if your projector spends a lot of time moving from one place to another. Use a can of compressed air to dislodge any dust or debris from the power port on the back of the device. Test if this has solved the issue; if not, then move to checking the internal connections
Check all internal connections and make sure they are properly connected and undamaged.
Visuals will not display, but the Epson PowerLite S4 is on.
If the image is not displaying, then you can check if the lamp is disconnected from power, or if the lamp needs replacing altogether. If your lamp is on the older side, and is producing no image after checking that there are no dislodged or damaged connectors, use this guide to replace it.
The Epson PowerLite S4 is running slower or is heating up more than normal.
Through normal operation, the dust filter will often clog over time, and needs to be cleaned regularly.
If you already cleaned the dust filter and it didn’t solve overheating issues, then consider replacing the dust filter. See this link to learn how to replace it.
The Epson PowerLite S4 won’t successfully connect via wires to external devices.
Turn the projector so that the ports are facing up. Use compressed air to blow any obstructions and dust out of the various ports until clean. If the projector still does not connect to external devices, then check the connection in the next section.
Check all external and internal cable connections to ensure proper connectivity.
One or more of the projector’s buttons are blocked or do not respond to input.
Open up the projector by unscrewing all of the screws on the bottom of the projector and lifting it off the top of the case. From here ensure the connection between the motherboard and buttons. If they are connected, you can take the buttons off and replace them.
Carefully take off the buttons of the projector and use a can of compressed air to blow the area around the button housings to clean any dust or dirt that may be obstructing the buttons.
