The guitar does not sound like it usually does.
When the instrument is frequently used, it can fall out of tune. Tuning the strings need to happen regularly. A tuner is needed as a guide to tune each string on the guitar to find the accurate tones. Look at “There is something wrong with the strings” to see how.
When the strings are loosely placed, the strings may buzz. You need to tighten any hardware that holds the strings and ensure that the strings are placed correctly on the nut and bridge with no interference.
Guitar strings have to be replaced every few months, especially when the instrument is played often. If not replaced, the strings can be difficult to play or lose its luster, resulting in plain tones.

Your strings may be broken, flat, or need to be tuned.
A tuner is necessary to accurately tune strings. Place the tuner near the instrument being tuned, and adjust it to the right note. Each string is adjusted by turning the knob, corresponding to that string, found at the headstock. Note: Do not adjust the string too much for this can lead to breaking the string.
Your strings may not sound like it originally did, or have a plain tone. In this case, check to see if the strings are properly tuned. If they are and they still sound stale, you may need to replace the strings.
Your strings may have broken or split making it unable for you to play. If this is the case, be warned that it is dangerous to play when the strings are damaged. You will need to replace the strings with a new set.
You are unable to hear any noise from the amplifier.
Verify that the audio cable is correctly plugged into the guitar’s output jack and the amplifier’s input jack.
Check the volume knob to see if it is turned all the way down. If so, turn the knob halfway to supply sound on the guitar and the amplifier.
If the volume knob on the guitar has chipped from use, the knob will be hard to use. If this is the case, the volume knob would need to be replaced.
