Great instructions, thank you, but you seem to have missed one essential point. To remove the coil assembly from the bottom of the unit, you have to press the locking tabs on the bottom of the unit in towards the centre, especially at the ends of the tabs. This (at least on my unit bought in July 2021) releases some catches that hold the coil assembly into the housing. Without doing this you risk breaking something when trying to remove the coil assembly. I can provide pictures if that helps. For info, the reason that I wanted to take my unit apart is that the cable supplied is not long enough to reach the monitor unit from the point where I can easily attach the CT to my mains supply, so I wanted to see if I can fit a longer cable. The answer seems to be “with care, yes”. Thank you - rowan(at)sylvesterbradley(dot).org

Hi Rowan,

I think the removal of the coil is mentioned in Step 3. That is where I push the tabs towards the center to free the coil from the lower housing. Would you provide pictures? You’re welcome to update the guide with more recent information regarding the disassembly of the device.
