Step 1

              Electra Domed Ringer Bike Bell Rust Removal               
  • Twist the top cover to remove it from the bell.
  • If twisting does not work, pry around the edges of the top cover using a metal spudger to remove it.
  • If you need to pry off the top, you will need to glue or solder the top back on at the end.

  • Use the tweezers to gently bend up the prongs on the metal four-pronged rings.
  • Use caution to not break the prongs off the rings.

  • Remove the hammer by gently lifting it off of the spring.
  • Set the hammer aside with the other pieces.

  • Move the spring until it is off the spoke, then remove the spring from the metal band.
  • The spring most likely has rust, so be careful with removal.
  • Set the spring aside with the other parts.

Step 5

  • Remove the lever by lifting it off the metal spoke.
  • Set the lever aside with the other parts.
  • Be careful with the metal band attached to the lever as it could bend out of its intended shape.

Step 6

  • Place the rusty pieces into a bowl and pour white vinegar over them. Wait two hours.
  • Pull the pieces out carefully and clean the rust off of them. Let the pieces dry.
  • Dispose of the rust and the vinegar carefully. Do not consume the vinegar.

  • If you had to pry the top off of your bell, you will have to glue or solder it back on.
  • Reassemble the bell, then either solder or glue the top back on.
