Not so fast, there are teeth on the lower roll insert that can interfere with teeth on the housing. Is there a purpose for these teeth, maybe manufacturing mold release? My brush roll will not turn when re-installed. It installs easily, powers up, spins about 4 or 5 revolutions, then shuts off power for a second, then comes back on without the roller spinning at all. I can see it is the teeth interlocking but don’t know how it makes the first 4 or 5 revs. Very strange indeed!!

I have the same problem, where the teeth seem to be engaging and stopping the revolutions. Any fix for this?

My motorhead works intermittely. I took it apart and cleaned everything to no avail. The guy at Starks vacuum in Sherwood OR said it was plugged and he would take it apart and clean it for $100. Hmmmm, what can he clean that I can’t?
