The DJI Mavic Mini flashes max force/ESC warning on the screen, the battery starts going down dramatically.
Flying the drone against wind gusts over 8 m/s can overwork the drone and produce this warning.
Look for burnt or damaged motor windings. Motor windings are the copper wires inside the motor casing. Replace motor if damaged with this guide: DJI Mavic Mini Motor Replacement
Mavic Mini says “GPS signal weak” “Hovering unstable” “Fly with caution”
Keep the drone clear of any metal or objects with an electrical charge. Make sure the drone is 1.5m above the ground. Replace GPS module here if none of the suggestions above fix the issues.
Set the drone on a flat surface with its arms folded in. Turn the drone on. Tap on the three dots in the upper right-hand corner of the app. Select “Safety”. Scroll down and select the option to calibrate the IMU. Simply follow the on-screen instructions to complete the IMU calibration. When complete, the drone will restart.
DJI Mavic Mini may display in-flight instabilities such as wobbling if propellers are damaged. Check propellers for damage such as chipping and cracking. Replace propellers referring to this guide: DJI Mavic Mini Propeller replacement.
DJI Mavic Mini drifts without user input during flight.
Increase the drone’s altitude until it has cleared any obstacles that might interfere with signal strength. Ensure that you are facing the drone. Use the indicator in the center of the bottom of the screen to verify where the drone is located. Adjust the antennas on the remote controller so that they are parallel to each other and perpendicular to the drone.
The gimbal connected to the camera of the drone may be loose, disabling the drone from holding position. If you notice a loose gimbal screw, tighten it to secure the gimbal and prevent vibrations.
If the issue still persists after trying the steps listed above, it might be a firmware issue. Be sure to have the latest firmware software installed by checking the DJI Assistant program on your computer. Once updated be sure to reboot your DJI Mavic Mini and recalibrate the IMU.
The DJI Mavic Mini camera quality is unable to move from one position or is unstable during flight.
If the gimbal was broken during a crash, replace it with this guide here.
If the gimbal reports “Gimbal motor overload” there might be launch site obstruction like grass or rocks that prevent the gimbal from calibrating. Move the drone to a more open and flat launching site. Remember to remove the gimbal cover as this could result in a similar warning on the controller.
The indicator lights on the DJI Mavic Mini flash yellow/red
The DJI Mavic Mini drone will flash only a red light if there is a faulty IMU calibration. Use the “DJI GO” app to perform calibration. Calibration can be found under General Settings > Advanced Settings > Sensor > IMU Calibration. Follow on-screen instructions to calibrate IMU.
The Compass could be possibly not calibrated correctly if the drone alternates between yellow an red flashes. Use the “DJI GO” app to perform calibration. Calibration can be found under Aircraft Status > Calibrate. Follow on-screen directions to calibrate the compass.
