What you need

Step 1

              Display and Front Bezel               
  • Unscrew the 6 Torx T5 screws from the back of the device

  • Use a spudger to lift up the screen assembly ribbon cable flap, then remove the ribbon cable.

              Charging Port               
  • Using a spudger, unplug the Charging Port connector from the motherboard.

Step 4

  • Remove the 2 silver Torx T5 screws holding the charging port down.

Step 5

  • Remove the Charging Port Assembly from the motherboard.

Remove the Charging Port Assembly from the motherboard.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

Where can the part be purchased?

I’m not sure if there is a replacement charging port assembly available online. If you’re good at microsoldering, you could replace the surface mount micro USB port on the assembly.

would a cell phone repair shop be able to do this?

If they are comfortable with it. Tell them it will probably require microsoldering.
