Saw blade cuts at an angle from the rest of the saw body.
Pull down on blade release lever and remove the blade. Check to see if the blade is straight, and if not replace it with a new one.
Remove the blade by pulling down on the blade release lever. With the battery removed, hold the saw up and sight down the shaft from the front of the saw. If it is not straight with the surrounding frame see ‘‘Shaft Repair Guide’’ for repair instructions.
Remove the battery and blade from the saw. With the shaft fully extended, grab the front of the shaft and move it left and right. If it moves in any direction other than forward and back it may need tightened or the bearing may need replaced.
Saw does not operate when the trigger is pulled.
Remove battery and try to re-seat it into the saw and see if it works. If still not working remove battery and insert onto powered charger. Look at LED light and see what flashing pattern you get. If you get a rapid flashing light then remove and reinsert onto the charger again. If you still get a rapid flashing LED light then remove and insert a different battery pack. If the second battery pack starts to charge normally then the first battery pack is faulty and needs to be serviced or replaced. If the second battery pack also shows a rapid flashing light then take both batteries and the charger to a local authorized repair shop to have your charger and batteries inspected.
Locate the trigger lock above the trigger and ensure it is not engaged. If trigger lock is disengaged and trigger still won’t move then it will need to be replaced. See ‘‘Trigger Repair Guide’’ for instructions.
Saw is too slow to cut efficiently, or won’t cut thicker material.
Check to see if battery is fully charged. If the saw is still weak after fully charging the battery, then the battery may need to be replaced.
The Brushes in the base of the motor may be worn down or broken. See ‘‘Armature and Bearing Repair Guide’’ for repair instructions.
Saw works at irregular intervals and isn’t consistently cutting.
Remove the battery and turn the saw over. You should see four metal tabs where the battery slots in. Gently wiggle each one to see if it moves in its housing. If so, they may need reinforced with glue.
Remove the battery. Squeeze the trigger all the way down and make sure it fully returns to its off position. If it only returns partially, or stays depressed, it will need to be replaced. See ‘‘Trigger Repair Guide’’ for instructions.
If the trigger is still working and the saw still won’t turn on, the ECM may be damaged or burnt out.
Saw powers on but, the saw blade does not move.
Turn off the saw, remove the battery. Pull on blade to check how tight it is within the shaft. If the blade wiggles then tighten the blade down further so that it doesn’t move.
Remove the battery and try to move the shaft by hand. If the shaft moves without turning the motor, or does not move at all, then the gears may be damaged. See ‘‘Armature and Bearing Repair Guide’’ for repair instructions.
