Introduction
Before using this guide, inspect the fans to see if there is any debris or dust stopping them from functioning properly. If so, turn off your device and use compressed air to blow the dust and debris out.
Otherwise, the cooling fans may need to be replaced. This guide will give you the process on how to do so.
Before beginning, make sure to turn off the device completely.
What you need
Step 1
Back Panel
- Remove eight 5 mm screws from the back panel using a T5 Torx screwdriver.
- Use the opening tool to loosen the panel on all sides and then lift it from the device.

Step 2
Cooling Fans
- Remove two 5 mm screws from each of the two fans using a JIS #1 screwdriver.

Step 3
- Use a spudger to unplug both cooling fans from the white ports on the motherboard.

- Using the spudger, lift each cooling fan out of the device.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
