What you need

Step 1

              Battery
  • Slide the release latch to release the battery [1].
  • Remove the battery from the computer [2].

Step 2

              Optical-Disk Drive
  • Remove the M2L3 screw that secures the optical drive to the computer [1].
  • Using a plastic scribe, push the tab in the direction of the arrow indicated on the chassis. [2].
  • Slide the optical drive out of the computer [3].

Step 3

              KeyBoard
  • Using a plastic scribe, release the five tabs from the slots located above the keyboard [1].
  • Flip the keyboard on the palm rest to access the keyboard connector cable under the keyboard [2].

Step 4

  • Disconnect the keyboard cable from the system board.
  • Remove the keyboard from the computer.

Step 5

              Base Cover
  • Disconnect the optical drive connector and lift it to remove it from the system board [1].
  • Remove the M2L5 screws that secure the base cover [2].

Remove the M2L5 screws that secure the base cover [2].

Step 6

  • Flip the computer and remove the screws (8 screws - M2.5L8; 3 screws - M2L2; 2 screws- M2L2) that secure the base cover to the computer.

Step 7

  • Use a scribe to pry the edges of the base cover [1].
  • Lift the base cover and remove it from the computer [2].

Step 8

              Memory Module
  • Pull the clips securing the memory module until the memory module pops up [1].
  • Remove the memory module from the system board [2].

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
