Introduction
The ram modules are used throughout all processes when active. They do not require a lot of power so they primarily fail due to onboard shorts or physically get damaged. Broken RAM modules can render your computer extremely slow or useless.
Before using this guide, check out the troubleshooting page to see if your symptoms match any that represent bad RAM modules.
You can also use this guide to upgrade your RAM for more a higher memory configuration.
This replacement requires a #00 Phillips head screwdriver.
NOTE: This guide requires removal of the back panel and battery. The extra prerequisite guide steps are included in this guide.
What you need

Back Panel
- Place the device top down in front of you so that the vents are visible and are furthest from the user.
- Please be sure that the device is powered off and unplugged before removing parts or deconstructing anything.

- Remove all eight M2.5 X 8MM screws with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

- Lift and remove the panel.

Battery
- Remove the three M2.5 X 5MM screws, located above the battery, with a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

- Disconnect the battery wire by using your fingers to pull diagonally left on the tab.

- Remove the battery completely by grabbing an edge and pulling up on the battery.

RAM
- Locate the 2 RAM modules above where the battery would be.
- The two blue RAM modules used in the photo may vary in color from your device.

- While the RAM is still seated, push the silvered clips either side of each stick outwards. There should be some obvious upward movement from each stick.

- Firmly grab each RAM with your fingers and pull them away from you to remove them.
