What you need

Step 1

              Remove screws
  • Before performing this task, make sure you turn off the computer and disconnect every external drive from it, whether it’s a USB drive, power charger, or wireless adapter.
  • Remove the screws that secure the base cover to the computer.

Step 2

              Remove base cover
  • Lift the base cover and remove it from the computer.

              Align base cover with screws
  • Place the base cover to align with the screw holes on the computer.

              Tighten screws
  • Tighten the screws to secure the base cover to the computer.

Step 5

              Base Cover Caps - Step 1
  • You don’t necessarily have to replace the base cover caps if you are just replacing the base cover itself.
  • Remove the screws that secure the left base corner cap, lift and remove it from the computer.

              Base Cover Caps - Step 2
  • Remove the screws that secure the right base corner cap, lift and remove it from the computer.

Step 7

              Base Cover Caps (Steps 3 & 4)
  • Place the left and right base corner caps to align with the screw holes on the computer.
  • Tighten the screws to secure the base corner caps to the computer.

Tighten the screws to secure the base corner caps to the computer.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
