Step 1

              Battery               
  • Flip over the laptop.

  • Pull back the 2 battery tabs which are to the left and the right of the battery.

  • Remove the battery from the laptop.

              Bottom Cover               
  • Remove the 4 Philips #0 screws from the laptop.

  • Remove the bottom cover from the laptop.

              Heatsink               
  • Remove the fan connector.

Step 7

  • Remove the 4 Philips #1 screws on the heatsink.

  • Remove the Fan+Heatsink assembly.

Step 9

  • Use a paper towel or alcohol swab to clean the thermal paste from the heatsink & CPU.

              CPU               
  • Use a flathead screwdriver and turn the CPU lock counter-clockwise.
  • Remember to turn the CPU Lock clockwise when you install the new CPU! If you don’t do this, the computer won’t boot up.

Step 11

  • Carefully remove the CPU.
  • Be VERY CAREFUL to NOT bend ANY pins on the CPU.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Remember to reapply the thermal paste!
