What you need

              Battery               
  • First, turn off your laptop and disconnect any external adapter.

  • Release the latch or latches connected to the battery that hold it in place.

  • Remove the old battery from its storage bay.

  • Plug in the external AC adapter to fully charge the new battery.

              Remove the access panel               
  • After removing the battery, loosen the screw holding the access panel in place. Then, slide the access panel away from the hinge covers, and lift to remove the access panel..

Step 6

              Remove the coin-cell battery               
  • Pry up the coin-cell battery to release the double-stick adhesive tape on the bottom of the coin-cell battery, then lift it out of the computer. Then, disconnect the coin-cell battery cable from the system board.

Step 7

              Install new coin-cell battery               
  • With your replacement battery, coin-cell battery cable to the system board. Then, remove the adhesive backing paper from the coin-cell battery. Slide the battery under the tab, then press down to seal the tape on bottom.

Reassemble your device by performing the instructions above in reverse order.
