Removing the bottom cover
- Using the Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the eight 5mm screws on the bottom of the laptop case.
- The screws on the back side of the case will not be completely removed from the case, as they are affixed from the inside.

Pry Open Case
- Using a pry tool, pry open the case bottom starting at a front corner and working around the three sides.
- It is not necessary to pry the back of the case, where the screws are affixed to the case bottom.

Step 3
Remove Case Bottom
- Lift the case bottom from a corner, and completely remove the case bottom.
- The case is held by magnets and may need gentle force to lift from the bottom of the laptop.

Unscrew Battery
- Unscrew the five 3mm screws holding the battery in place using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

Battery Removal
- Using the pull tab, disconnect the battery from the system board. Remove the laptop once it is disconnected from the board.
- When disconnecting the battery, be careful to pull the tab directly away from the board. Pulling with an angle may damage the connection to the board.

Disconnect Right Speaker
- Disconnect the speaker from the system board by pulling the plug.
- Move speaker wires from under the tabs using pry tool or screwdriver. This will help to move the speaker away from the Windows drive.

Move Right Speaker
- Move the right speaker away from the laptop body to provide space around the Windows drive.

Unscrew Hard Drive
- Unscrew the 5mm screw holding the drive using the Phillips #00 screwdriver.

- Remove the Windows hard drive by raising the drive slightly and gently pulling from the system board.
