              Battery

Place the laptop on a flat surface and open the cover.
Unplug the power cord from the laptop.

Turn the laptop off by holding down the silver power button in the upper left corner until all the lights turn off.
If the laptop is not turned off, there is a risk of electrical shock when replacing the battery.

Step 3

Close the cover of the laptop and turn the laptop over so the the bottom is facing up.
Locate the release latch.
Locate the battery on the bottom of the laptop.

Step 4

Slide the battery release latch to the right and hold it.
With your other hand, pull the battery away from the laptop and release the latch.
Discard the old battery according to your local laws.
