Introduction

Before upgrading your RAM sticks, make sure all your laptop software is up to date. This could be another reason your computer is not operating at peak efficiency.

Before beginning, make sure to power off your laptop completely, and disconnect the laptop from any external power source.

What you need

Step 1

              Back Panel               
  • Remove the six 6 mm screws from the back panel with a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
  • Loosen the four captive screws at the bottom using a Phillips #1 screwdriver.
  • The four screws on the bottom are captive screws and cannot be removed.

Step 2

  • Pry out the back panel using the flat head side of the spudger.
  • Do not insert the spudger more than half an inch when separating the bottom and right side of the back panel.

Step 3

              RAM               
  • Pull the clips away from the side of the RAM stick.

  • Lift the RAM up and away from the motherboard.

  • If there is a second RAM stick, pull the clips away from the side of the RAM stick.

Step 6

  • Lift the RAM stick up and away from the motherboard.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
