Introduction

What you need

Step 1

              Hard Drive               
  • Power off the laptop and wait 20 minutes before beginning disassembly.
  • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove thirteen 8.5 mm screws from the bottom of the laptop.
  • Using the same screwdriver, remove the two 3.2 mm screws and slide the DVD drive out of the laptop.

Step 2

  • Remove the three 2.3 mm screws underneath the CD drive using the Phillips #0 screwdriver.
  • Pry off the back cover of the laptop using an opening tool.

Step 3

  • Disconnect cable covering the hard drive by prying up on the clamp holding the cable.
  • Disconnect the cable from the motherboard.

Step 4

  • Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the three 5.6 mm screws from the hard drive.
  • Remove the old hard drive from the laptop.

Using the Phillips #0 screwdriver, remove the three 5.6 mm screws from the hard drive.

Remove the old hard drive from the laptop.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
