Step 1
Remove the Screws
- WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that shipped with your computer. Follow the procedures in “Before You Begin”.
- CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on your computer).
- CAUTION: Hard drives are extremely fragile. Exercise care when handling the hard drive.
- Remove the two screws that secure the hard-drive cover to the computer base.

Pry out te Hard-Drive Cover
- Pry out the hard-drive cover using your finger.

- Remove the two screws that secure the hard-drive assembly to the computer base.

Disconnecting the Hard Drive Assembly
- Pull the pull-tab on the hard-drive assembly towards the right to disconnect the hard-drive assembly from the system board connector.

Lifting the Hard-Drive Assembly
- Lift the hard-drive assembly out of the computer base.

Placing the Hard Drive
- Place the NEW hard drive in the hard-drive cage.
