- Remove the nine 3 mm screws from the back of the laptop using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

- Carefully pry open the back of the back of the laptop using opening picks.
- Lift the back cover away from the laptop.
- Be careful not to damage or crack the back cover of the device.

Heat Sink
- Unscrew the four screws from the heat sink using a Phillips screwdriver.

- Check to see if the fan will obstruct the removal process and if so, remove the fan first before removing the heat sink to prevent any damage.
- If there are no obstructions that hinder the removal process, then lift and remove the heat sink.

- Before you install a new compatible cooling system, place a fresh coat of thermal paste in the center of where the previous cooling system used to be.
