  • Place the laptop with the bottom side facing upwards.

  • Remove the nine 3 mm screws from the back of the laptop using a Phillips #00 screwdriver.

  • Carefully pry open the back of the back of the laptop using opening picks.
  • Lift the back cover away from the laptop.
  • Be careful not to damage or crack the back cover of the device.

Step 4

              Heat Sink               
  • Unscrew the four screws from the heat sink using a Phillips screwdriver.

  • Check to see if the fan will obstruct the removal process and if so, remove the fan first before removing the heat sink to prevent any damage.
  • If there are no obstructions that hinder the removal process, then lift and remove the heat sink.

Step 6

  • Before you install a new compatible cooling system, place a fresh coat of thermal paste in the center of where the previous cooling system used to be.
