What you need

Step 1

              Loosen the Captive Screws               
  • WARNING: Before working inside your computer, read the safety information that shipped with your computer.
  • CAUTION: To avoid electrostatic discharge, ground yourself by using a wrist grounding strap or by periodically touching an unpainted metal surface (such as a connector on your computer).
  • Loosen the three captive screws that se cure the hard-drive assembly to the computer base.

Step 2

              Lifting the Hard-Drive               
  • Using the pull-tab, lift the hard-drive assembly to disconnect it from the connector on the system board.

              Lifting the Hard-Drive Assembly               
  • Lift the hard-drive assembly out of the computer base.

              Remove the Screws               
  • Remove the four screws that secure the hard drive to the hard-drive bracket.

              Lifting the Hard-Drive               
  • Lift the hard-drive off the hard-drive bracket.

              Remove the Interposer               
  • Remove the interposer from the hard drive.

              Connecting the Interposer               
  • Connect the interposer to the NEW hard drive.

              Placing the Hard Drive               
  • Place the hard drive in the hard-drive bracket.

              Replace the Screws               
  • Replace the four screws that secure the hard drive to the hard-drive bracket.

              Align the Connector               
  • Align the connector on the hard drive with the connector on the system board and press the hard drive until it is fully seated.

              Tighten the Screws               
  • Tighten the three captive screws that secure the hard-drive assembly to the computer base.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
