What you need

Step 1

              Lower Case               
  • Loosen the eight retaining screws on the base of the computer with a small Phillips screwdriver.
  • The screws have retaining washers to hold them in place, so you don’t have to remove them from the base plate.
  • Remove the bottom cover from the laptop.

Step 2

              RAM               
  • On the top stick of RAM, push each of the two tabs away from the side as shown in the second picture.
  • Once the tabs are pushed out of the way, the stick of RAM will automatically pop up as shown in the third picture. At this point, you can simply slide the stick of RAM out of the slot.
  • Repeat this process for the bottom stick.

Repeat this process for the bottom stick.

Step 3

  • With both sticks out you are ready to put the new ones in. Each stick has a small notch on the left side splitting the gold contacts. This is for the alignment pin.
  • Starting with the bottom stick of RAM, align the pin and insert the stick at the same angle you removed the old one. Once it is gently pushed in all the way, push the stick down as shown in the third picture until it locks under the retaining springs.
  • Repeat this process for the second stick of RAM.

With both sticks out you are ready to put the new ones in. Each stick has a small notch on the left side splitting the gold contacts. This is for the alignment pin.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
