Introduction

Some signs that you may need to replace your battery are it having very little overall use time, the laptop overheating often or the battery itself taking an extensive amount of time to charge.

There are no special skills or tools needed to complete this guide.

Before beginning, be sure to completely power off your device.

Step 1

  • There is no external access to the battery. Please make sure the at the battery has been drained or disabled through BIOS before beginning.
  • Flip the device over.

Step 2

  • Remove the bottom cover by unsnapping the clips around the edge of the computer.
  • You may hear a slight pop when you pull the cover off.

  • Disconnect orange film wire harness from the slot it is connected to.
  • The bottom cover and battery are one piece and will be replaced as a unit.
  • Remove the battery from the device.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.

For optimal performance, after completing this guide, calibrate your newly installed battery.

Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.
