Step 2

  • Hold onto the fixture with one hand, and use the screwdriver to start unscrewing the fixture with your other hand.
  • If possible, have someone else hold the fixture for you.
  • Caution: Be careful not to drop the fixture. Broken glass can be very dangerous.

  • Place the fixture and any loose screws off to the side.

  • Unscrew the lightbulb from the fixture.

  • Check to make sure that your replacement lightbulb matches the necessary type for the fixture.
