Step 1

              Fuel Injector Lines

Release the hood latch by pulling the knob within the cab towards you.
Reach to the middle of the hood and pull the lever upward to release the hook.
Extend the hood upward to view the engine.

Step 2

Remove the spark plug caps from the spark plugs by pulling straight towards you.

Label each spark plug cap with masking tape corresponding to the piston it belongs to.
Set the spark plug wires aside to open up your work area.

Remove the breather hose above the fuel rail to open up room for you to work.
The clamp on this hose is missing parts. If you have an intact clamp, you will need to loosen it with a Phillips screwdriver.

Step 5

Using the 12mm socket and ratchet, remove the four bolts anchoring the fuel rail. Two bolts will be near the injectors, one on the front of the engine, and the last on the other side of the engine.

Remove the bracket that holds the injector plug-in wires to the fuel rail.

Step 7

Loosen the clamps that attach the fuel line to the fuel rail using the Phillips screwdriver.
Slide the clamps down toward the fuel injector to allow the fuel rail to slide out.

Step 8

Spray the silicone where the line is still attached to the fuel rail to lubricate the fuel line.

Step 9

Take the pick and loosen the hose from the fuel rail. Slide the pick between the fuel line and rail.
In a circular motion, move the pick around the inside of the hose.

Step 10

Carefully pull the fuel rail out of the fuel injector lines until it is completely out.
You will have to maneuver the fuel rail to remove it from the fuel lines, but do not bend the fuel rail itself. It is metal piping that transports fuel to the engine. If the fuel rail is bent, the engine will not receive fuel to run properly.

Step 11

Pull the clamps off the fuel lines.
Set them aside on a flat surface so you do not lose them.
Use the box cutter to cut the fuel line from the injector ring to the open end of the fuel line.
The box cutter is sharp, so be careful to not gouge the injector itself. Fuel can leak out around the fuel line if you cut the injector.

Step 12

Using the pliers, grip the fuel line and twist it off of the injector.
Be sure all of the hose is removed and the ring stays on the injector.

With the hose cutters, cut off a piece of the new fuel injector hose that is the same size as the old fuel lines.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
