The device does not react to any user input, and stays dark.
Make sure the hold/power switch is in the middle position.
The battery might be dead; try charging it for at least 30 minutes.
If the battery does not charge, the battery might not be working, and should be replaced.
If replacing the battery with one that is known to work does not fix the problem, the main motherboard may be damaged, and should be replaced.
The screen shows one or more distinct dark or discolored spots.
If your device has small squares that are dark while the rest of the display is fine, you may have dead pixels. The simplest fix for this is replacing the LCD display.
A bent, cracked, or shattered screen or case can lead to further problems if not dealt with
A broken screen is a fairly simple replacement.
The device turns on, but some or all of the buttons on the keypad don’t seem to do anything
It might help to remove the case and re-seat the rubber keypad mat on the circuit board it sits on, or remove debris that might have accumulated underneat it.
You may need to check the connection between the keypad and the motherboard, or simply replace the whole assembly.
Whether the speaker or the headphone jack, the device fails to produce sound.
If the headphone jack still works but the built-in speaker does not, the speaker should be replaced.
If either sound output is not working, the simplest fix is to replace the motherboard, which both components are soldered directly on to.
