  • Follow the Prerequisite Guide on how to Replace the Battery to prepare the phone for disassemble. Remove, but do not replace the battery.

Step 2

  • Remove all screws on the plastic case with a T6 Torx T-4 screwdriver, as shown.
  • Blue Circle: T6 Torx, Length 5mm
  • Red Circle: T6 Torx, Length 4mm
  • The screen and other parts are now loose and can easily fall off.

  • Separate the back cover from the phone. A plastic removal tool can be used here.

Step 4

  • Remove the last two screws holding the motherboard to the device.
  • Orange Circle: 00 Philips head, Length 2 mm
  • The screen and other parts are now loose and can easily fall off.

  • Gently pull up the motherboard. Some force may need to be applied.
  • Some wires on the reverse side are still attached.
  • Make sure to line up the plastic connectors highlighted by the red circles when re-assembling.

Step 6

  • Break the break the data cable connection between the motherboard and the controller plate by gently pulling out the connecting wire with tweezers.
  • When the device is orientated as shown in the picture, apply the force parallel to the motherboard and away from the device, as depicted by the red arrows.

Step 7

  • The entire controller plate should now be free from the phone. All the buttons can now be taken off by gently pressing them out.
  • If the touch-pad joysticks do not work, the entire plate needs to be replaced.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
