Introduction

This guide is meant to assist the reader with the proper steps to remove and replace the touchpad of the Compaq Evo N1000v device.

What you need

Step 1

              Touchpad               
  • Remove the 6 screws as shown in the photo.

  • Push the front of the laptop upwards as the photo shows.

  • Rest the front end piece on the keyboard area.

  • Unscrew the 4 screws as shown in the photo.

  • Unplug the cable as shown in the photo.

Step 6

  • Unlock the second cable shown in the photo by using the pointed tweezers to move the lock upward on both sides of the cable.

  • Unplug the cable you have just unlocked.

  • Remove the gray, metal case surrounding the touchpad.

  • Remove the touchpad.
  • Repeat these steps in reverse order to install the new touchpad.
