Introduction

This guide is meant to assist the reader with the proper steps to remove and replace the rear fan of the Compaq Evo N1000v device.

What you need

Step 1

              Rear Fan               
  • Carefully remove the screws located inside the red circles.

Step 2

  • Next, you will need to push down the “F1” key with the spudger and push it under the silver LED display panel.
  • Push down on the spudger to lift the LED display upward.
  • Do this on both the left and right sides of the device as shown in the images.

Step 3

  • Completely remove the LED display panel from the device.

  • Lift the keyboard up from the back end as shown in the image.

  • Pull the keyboard slightly toward the screen of the device to reveal the connecting cable below.

Step 6

  • Follow the cable to its connection and use the grip tweezers to unlock the cable by grabbing the left side of the lock and pulling upward.
  • Repeat this action on the right side of the lock.

  • Pull the keyboard upward to remove it from the device.

  • Unscrew the 3 screws as shown in the photo.

  • Remove the cable with the grip tweezers as shown in the photo.

Step 10

  • Remove the rear fan.
  • Repeat these steps in reverse order to install the new rear fan.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
