The Cobra 29 LTD Classic is not transmitting or receiving any signals after trying several channels.
Make sure that your antenna has been properly tuned before you try transmitting with your radio. If you try to transmit signals and your antenna is not tuned you may damage your Cobra 29 LTD Classic.
The Cobra 29 LTD classic has two transmitting modes. The CB mode which is the mode for transmitting and receiving. The PA mode which is used for talking through an external speaker on your vehicle. This mode does not transmit. There is a switch on the front of the Cobra 29 LTD Classic to switch between the PA mode and CB mode. Make sure the switch is in the CB position.
Check that the channel is the one you are trying to transmit and receive on.
The squelch knob is like a gate for incoming signals. when the knob is turned all the way clockwise it closes the gate for all incoming signals except for the very strong ones. When the knob is all the way counterclockwise it opens the gate all the way up to let in all signals and white noise. For proper operation the squelch should be adjusted so that you have the gate open as wide as you can without hearing the white noise. So start with your knob all the way counterclockwise and turn slowly in the clockwise direction until the white noise stops. That should be the operating position.
Please see our replacement guide for the Microphone.
