- Before you begin, make sure that the machine is turned off.
- For safety purposes, disconnect the spark plug.
- Grab the plastic housing at the end of the spark plug wire.
- Pull firmly to disconnect the wire from the spark plug.

- Place wheel chocks against the roller and rear wheel to prevent the machine from moving.

Unscrew the blade
- Use a 1/2" socket wrench to remove the six 1 inch-long bolts securing both ends of the blade. You may need to use a 1/2" combination wrench to hold the nuts in place.

Remove the blade
- The blade can be very sharp! Do not handle the blade from the cutting edge.
- Grasp the back of the blade and slide it away from the mount.
