  • Twist the locking nut left to take it off.
  • You do not need any tools for this step.
  • The light cover is held together by the locking nut. Hold the light cover while twisting the locking nut, so that it will not drop to the ground and break.

  • Pull the light cover down from the ceiling.

  • Twist the light bulb out of it’s socket.

  • Lift the heat cover, also known as foil, out of the way.

  • Unscrew the screws halfway.
  • Twist the base of the light fixture to take it off.

  • There are three different colored wires. Black, white and copper. The black is the power wire, white is neutral and cooper is the ground wire.
  • Remove the black wire first, since it is the power. Then the white and copper wire.

  • Once you have twisted the base of the light fixture, the base will come down.
  • It does not matter which colored wire you reassemble first.
  • Twist each wire from the base of the light fixture to the wire in the ceiling.

Awesome, now can I put a ceiling fan up their with bigger fasteners or do I need the whole setup? Thanks
