What you need

Step 1

              Speaker               
  • Locate the seven 11mm screws on the back of the keyboard in order to remove the speaker from the front of the keyboard.
  • There are 7 screws that need to be removed in total to replace one speaker. Use a JIS-1 screwdriver to remove these screws: 2 on the back panel, and 4 on the side of the keyboard.
  • Three of these seven screws are slightly hidden and may be hard to find.

  • Gently remove the speaker and its compartment from the front of the keyboard.

  • Remove the four 11 mm screws with JIS-1 screwdriver on the four corners of the silver square on the back of the speaker.

Step 4

  • A soldering iron is needed to remove the wires connected to the speaker in order to fully replace it. For soldering help, take a look at the Soldering and Desoldering Connections guide.
  • Desolder the metal that attaches the blue and white wires to the speaker.
  • Remove the speaker.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
