Introduction

A display screen shows the output of what is being input into the device through the keys. A damaged screen would display distorted prints from the calculator.

Before beginning this repair, make sure to take out the DC batteries at the back of the graphing calculator. Take extra precaution if screen appears to be shattered or broken. Put on rubber gloves to protect your hands if needed.

What you need

Step 1

  • Turn off the calculator and flip it over so the backside is facing up.
  • Slide the battery door off and remove all of the batteries.

  • Use a screwdriver to remove the screws from the back of the calculator.

  • Carefully remove the screw from the battery slot.

  • Remove the back case from the calculator.
  • Be careful of the spring that shows in the second picture. The spring is the convertor of the battery.

  • Remove the screws from the motherboard.

Step 6

  • Separate the screen cable from the motherboard using tweezers.
  • Remove the calculator screen.
  • Replace the screen.

Step 7

  • Replace the board and back cover of the calculator, then install the batteries to test if the new screen works well.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
